Auto Parts Testing

2018-12-06

auto parts test chamber

Auto parts test purpose:

The automobile is an electromechanical hybrid complex system consisting of tens of thousands of parts. Auto parts testing can help automakers and component manufacturers to quickly improve the performance of components and meet your high requirements for product quality and safety.

Auto parts test level:

1, material level test: test the material of the production parts, such as material strength, VOC, toxicity test, etc. (environmental test).

2, part level test: test the part itself, such as structural strength, part function, etc.

3, assembly level test: test the matching performance of the parts after installation to the vehicle, such as NVH, bad road, exposure, impact test, etc.

Auto parts testing standards:

Automotive exterior parts testing:

The pros and cons of the appearance of the exterior parts are the first impression of the vehicle, and it is also responsible for resisting the impact of the environment on the body. Therefore, in addition to the aesthetic requirements,Haida can test the important aspects of the exterior parts in terms of strength, toughness, environmental resistance and impact resistance.

Haida Coating Thickness Testing equipment that uses magnetic induction (ferrous) or eddy current (non-ferrous) to take non-destructive measurements of coating and dry film thickness (DFT) on metal substrates such as steel and aluminum. This thickness gauge can be used painted and powder-coated surface testing, automotive paint inspection, coated material testing, and manufacturing quality control applications.

Coating thickness gauge is an essential quality assurance tool when anodizing, galvanizing and applying zinc coating to metallic surfaces. A coating thickness gauge also is used to measure body paint thickness and uniformity on pre-owned cars, revealing repainted spots, identifying hidden damages and exposing undisclosed accidents. This information is important when determining the actual value of a used car.

Accelerated aging is testing that uses aggravated conditions of heat, temperature and humidity,uv, oxygen, xenon, sunlight, vibration, etc. to speed up the normal aging processes of items. It is used to help determine the long-term effects of expected levels of stress within a shorter time, usually in a laboratory by controlled standard test methods. It is used to estimate the useful lifespan of a product or its shelf life when actual lifespan data is unavailable. This occurs with products that have not existed long enough to have gone through their useful lifespan: for example, a new type of car engine or a new polymer for replacement joints.

Also, the device or material under test can be exposed to rapid (but controlled) changes in temperature, humidity, pressure, strain, etc. For example, cycles of heat and cold can simulate the effect of day and night for a few hours or minutes.

Environmental test chamber artificially replicates conditions which machinery, materials, devices or components might be exposed to. It is also used to accelerate the effects of exposure to the environment, sometimes at conditions not actually expected.

Chamber testing involves testing and exposing products to various environmental conditions in a controlled setting. Climatic Chamber testing and Thermal Shock testing are part of chamber testing. Climatic Chamber testing is a broad term used to describe different ways of simulating climate or excessive ambient conditions exposure for a product or a material under laboratory controlled yet accelerated conditions. On the other hand, Thermal Shock testing is used to simulate how materials will react when exposed to changes in extreme climatic conditions, such as going from extremely cold to extremely hot conditions in a very short period of time (usually only few seconds).
